Ramaa Mosley is an American commercial, feature & documentary film director based in Los Angeles. She is also an activist known for raising national and international awareness of the victims of the Chilbok schoolgirl kidnapping in Nigeria in 2014 by using social media and the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
In 2013, Mosley directed the Afghan segment of the documentary Girl Rising which follows the harrowing stories of girls around the world struggling to get an education. Girl Rising is a global campaign for girls’ education, which uses the power of storytelling to share the simple truth that educating girls can transform societies.
Leo Burnett/Chicago chose Ramaa to direct a spot for P&G’s Always #LikeAGirl award winning campaign which seeks to promote the importance of young girls’ self esteem primarily through inclusion in school sports. She just shot a follow up spot in that same campaign featuring an all girls robotics team. Ramaa has done extensive shooting around the globe from remote deserts in Morocco to Cape Town, Barcelona and Chile. Often serving as her own DP, she’s nimble, collaborative and delivers authentic and gorgeous footage for her lifestyle and storytelling work.
Ramaa’s most recent campaigns have been for Chevrolet, Nestle and Bank of America.
